Roadscope 9, an AI dashcam developed by A.I.MATICS (CEO Lee Hoon), has been successfully piloted on city buses in Korea. The project is part of the Korea Transportation Safety Institute's pilot project for city buses in Busan and Gwangju, and A.I.MATICS' AI dashcam has demonstrated the effectiveness of reducing the incidence of traffic accidents by more than 90% by detecting and warning drivers of drowsy driving, distracted driving, not wearing seat belts, and using cell phones in real time.
KBS News reports "Accident rate reduced by more than 90%"... proving AI-based driver monitoring technology
KBS News "AI dashcam reduces accident rate by 93.5%"
According to a recent KBS News report, buses equipped with A.I.MATICS' AI dashcam in a pilot project promoted by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority were able to detect dangerous driver behavior in real time and warn drivers immediately, resulting in a 71% reduction in traffic violations.
-
71% reduction in signal violations
-
and 93.5% reduction in traffic accidents.
The project was conducted by installing AI cameras on city buses in Busan and Gwangju, and AI analyzes dangerous behaviors that may occur while driving in real time and notifies them with a warning sound.
Key features of AI driver monitoring in Roadscope 9
-
Drowsy driving warning
-
Distracted driving detection and warning
-
Warnings for not wearing a seatbelt
-
Cell phone use detection and alerts
Even when drivers are unaware of risky behavior, AI reacts quickly to provide immediate warnings to prevent accidents, and after an accident, AI-powered data enables accurate accident cause analysis.
"Adding safety with AI technology" - A.I.MATICS' vision
Through this pilot installation, A.I.MATICS has proven that Roadscope 9's AI-based driver monitoring technology effectively contributes to accident prevention in real-world road environments. Going forward, A.I.MATICS will expand its solutions beyond city buses to charter buses, cargo vehicles, special vehicles, and other fields to realize its vision of "making roads safer with AI".
