An artificial intelligence (AI)-based safe driving management system will be introduced to village buses in Gyeonggi-do.
A.I.matics, a subsidiary of Dreamtek and an AI specialist, announced on the 22nd that it has signed a business agreement with the Gyeonggi-do Village Bus Transportation Association, Goyang City Branch, to prevent accidents and upgrade safety management in the village bus operation process.
The agreement is aimed at improving the safety of village buses used by local residents on a daily basis and establishing a public transportation management system based on data.
Gyeonggi Province, the stage of this cooperation, is one of the regions with the largest proportion of village buses in the country. Based on this regional characteristic, AImatics plans to use Gyeonggi Province as a base for spreading AI-based traffic safety management models. Under the agreement, each agency will work together on cooperative tasks centered on accident prevention, such as building a real-time safe driving management system, customized driving education using big data, and automating the submission of driving data.
The core equipment to be supplied to the field is an on-device AI camera for vehicles and a safe driving platform. The AI camera recognizes dangerous situations that may occur in and around the vehicle in real time while driving and provides immediate warnings to the driver. On the manager's side, the platform provides scoring reports and safe driving statistics for each driver, enabling management to analyze risky driving patterns and reflect on improving driving habits. It is a structure that connects data-based follow-up management beyond simple warning functions.
"With this agreement, we expect to provide safer and more efficient public transportation services to residents by combining AI and big data technologies in the operation of village buses," said Kang Young-seok, chairman of the Gyeonggi-do Village Bus Transportation Business Association.
Lee Hoon, CEO of A.I.matics, said, "As village buses are a means of transportation closely related to the daily lives of local residents, we will use our AI technology to help prevent accidents and build a smart operation system." "We will expand our AI video safety solution business beyond commercial vehicles such as buses and freight cars to public institutions and corporate business vehicles," he added.
